What is NCR paper?

NCR paper (No Carbon Required) eliminates the need for traditional carbon paper. Designed to transfer handwriting from the top sheet to the layers below, NCR paper features micro-encapsulated dye or ink on the back of the top sheet and a clay coating on the bottom sheet. When pressure is applied – such as when writing with a pen – the dye capsules break, creating an exact copy on the sheets below.
